Baird Ewing was desperate. His planet of Corwin was mere years away from invasion by an unstoppable alien armada, so he embarked on the two-year journey to Earth to ask for help, despite receiving no reply to their pleas. On Earth, he found a planet incapable of defending itself from alien incursion, much less aiding its colonies. Still, there must be some way to save both planets, and Baird Ewing had to find it!
