Timothy J. Kloppenborg is Professor Emeritus of Management at the Williams College of Business at Xavier University. He previously held faculty positions at the University of North Carolina Charlotte and the Air Force Institute of Technology, and worked temporarily at Southern Cross University and the Tecnologico de Monterrey. He has authored more than 100 publications and 9 books, including STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP OF PORTFOLIO AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT, PROJECT MANAGEMENT ESSENTIALS, PROJECT LEADERSHIP, and MANAGING PROJECT QUALITY. His articles have appeared in MIT Sloan Management Review, Project Management Journal, Journal of Management Education, Journal of General Management, SAM Advanced Management Journal, Information Systems Education Journal, Journal of Managerial Issues, Quality Progress, Management Research News, and Journal of Small Business Strategy . Dr. Kloppenborg is the founding editor of the Portfolio and Project Management book collection for Business Expert Press, where he has published 17 books.
He has been with the Project Management Institute for 30 years and has been a PMP since 1991. He is a retired officer in the US Air Force Reserve. Dr. Kloppenborg has worked with more than 150 voluntary organizations. He has practical and consulting experience in project management on six continents and has worked with organizations such as Duke Energy, Ernst & Young LLP, Givaudan, Greater Cincinnati Water Works, Intelligrated, Legrand North America, Kroger, Procter & Gamble, TriHealth and Children's Hospital from Texas . Dr. Kloppenborg has developed business training courses and graduate, MBA and executive MBA courses in the areas of project management, leadership, teamwork and quality improvement. He also teaches PMP preparation courses. He holds a BS from Benedictine College, an MBA from Western Illinois University, and a PhD in Operations Management from the University of Cincinnati.
Dr. Vittal Anantatmula is a professor at the College of Business at Western Carolina University and a campus at the University of North Carolina. He is also the director of graduate programs in project management and has been recognized by Western Carolina University for excellence in teaching and research. Dr. Anantatmula is a global visiting professor at Keio University, Yokohama, Japan. He is the director and board member of the Project Management Institute Global Accreditation Center (PMI-GAC). He is a member of the editorial boards of several scientific journals. In the past, Dr. Anantatmula at George Washington University. In addition, he worked for several years in the oil and energy sector as an electrical engineer and project manager as well as a consultant in several international organizations, including the World Bank. Dr. Anantatmula is the author of more than 60 publications, eight books and around 50 conference papers. He received his PhD from George Washington University and is a certified project management expert (PMP).
Kathryn ("Kate") Wells is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with a focus on residential real estate and investments. He holds a Masters Degree in Education from Xavier University and has taught and contributed teaching materials for project management on five continents. Ms. Wells has provided professional translations of project management materials from Spanish to English and is the lead author of PROJECT MANAGEMENT ESSENTIALS published by Business Expert Press in 2015. She regularly teaches project management at the Tecnologico de Monterrey campuses in Guadalajara and Queretaro, Mexico, and has taught online at the University of Cincinnati. He is part of the consulting team that evaluated the maturity level of project management for an internationally oriented company. Ms. Wells is also a premier buyer at Keller Williams Realty.
Perhaps the most consistent and concise textbook I have ever read! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a broad introduction to project management. It also perfectly prepares you for PMP.
The book came in new condition as promised. The classes have only just started, so I'm not sure about the content yet.
I've been a student for 3 quarters and put too much money into books only to find out that the next quarter was irrelevant. Than the god of Amazon rental and savings.
