Ramesh Sharda (MBA, Ph.D., University of Wisconsin - Madison) is Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Programs, Watson / ConocoPhillips Chair and Full Professor of Management Science and Information Systems at the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. He was the co-founder and director of the OSU Business Doctorate Program for Executives. About 200 articles describing his research have been published in leading journals, including Operations Research, Management Science, Information Systems Research, Decision Support Systems, and the Journal of MIS. He was a co-founder of AIS SIG on Decision Support Systems and Knowledge Management (SIGDSS). Dr. Sharda sits on several editorial boards, including the Decision Sciences Journal, Decision Support Systems, and the ACM Data Base. He is the author and editor of several text and research books and co-editor of several book series (Integrated Series on Information Systems, Operations Research / Computer Interfaces and Annals of Information Systems) at Springer. He is currently also the Executive Director of the Teradata University Network. His current research interests are in the areas of decision support systems, business analysis, and information congestion management technologies.
Dursun Delen (Ph.D., Oklahoma State University) is the Spears Chair in Business Administration, Patterson Foundation Chair in Business Analysis, Research Director of the Center for Health Systems Innovation, and Regents Professor in Management Science and Information Systems at the Spears School of Business Administration Oklahoma State University (OSU). Prior to his academic career, he worked for five years as a research scientist for a private research and consulting firm, Knowledge Based Systems Inc., in College Station, Texas, where he ran a range of decision support systems and other information systems. βRelated research projects funded by several federal agencies including the Department of Defense (DoD), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (BMDO), and the Department of Energy (BICH). Dr. Delen has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, some of which have appeared in major journals such as Decision Sciences, Decision Support Systems, Communications of the ACM, Computers and Operations Research, Computers in Industry, Journal of Production Operations Management, Artificial Intelligence. in Medicine, International Journal of Medical Informatics, Expert Systems with Applications and IEEE Wireless Communications. He recently became the author / co-author of seven textbooks in the general areas of business analysis, data mining, text mining, business intelligence, and decision support systems. Dr. Delen has over 30 years of analytical experience as both a management consultant and a university professor. Before starting his academic career, he worked for a private research and consulting company as a research assistant for five years. During that time, he led a number of decision support, systems intelligence and advanced analytics research projects by federal agencies such as the DoD, NASA, NIST and DoE. Dr. Delen has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles and 11 books / manuals. He is often invited to national and international conferences for lecturing activities and companies for consulting assignments on topics related to business analytics, data science, data / text mining and data management. He regularly leads tracks and mini-tracks at various business analysis and information systems conferences. He currently works as an editor, editor, co-editor and member of the editorial board in over a dozen magazine editorial offices. He has received several research and teaching awards, including the renowned Fulbright Scholar, Regents Distinguished Teacher and Researcher, and Big Data Mentor Awards.
